KYANKWANZI — The Minister of State for Public Service, Hon. Lydia Wanyoto Mutende, officially opened the Public Sector Institutions Leadership Retreat at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi.
Delivering remarks on behalf of Hon. Gen (Rtd) Edward Katumba Wamala, Hon. Wanyoto urged board chairpersons and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to foster collaboration across government entities to advance Uganda’s national development agenda and restore public trust.
“This five-day retreat marks a significant milestone in rethinking our institutional priorities and rebuilding citizen confidence in public service delivery,” Hon. Wanyoto stated.
She emphasized the necessity of balancing daily operational execution with modern corporate governance standards, calling on institution leaders to embrace digital transformation, ensure transparent stakeholder alignment, implement a tenfold growth strategy, and champion a knowledge-based economy.
Hon. Wanyoto also extended appreciation to the Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet, Ms. Lucy Nakyobe, who serves as Patron of the Public Sector Chairpersons’ Forum, for her dedicated oversight in ensuring government operates cohesively, accountably, and responsively to public demands.
